Merit Insignia

Merit Insignia are awarded for significant activities or efforts made by an individual towards the Aims of the Order. The awards can be made to non-members as well as members. All grades of the award when suspended from a ribbon, the ribbon is green and aubergine in colour.

Military and Civilian awards are differentiated by crossed swords for the Military Division at and above the level of Commander of Merit.

A silver eight-pointed star burst with the medal superimposed. Worn on the left breast. For members of the Military Division there are two crossed swords between the limbs of the cross.

The medal is suspended from an Antique or Eastern Coronet in gold with a black cap from a cordon. The medal is a gold cross flory, 65mm wide, in enamelled green. The central medallion shows a green enameled eight-pointed cross on a white enameled background, which is surrounded by a border lettered “POUR LE MERITE”.
